Building decks in Nesconset
Nesconset is a settled, owner-occupied Smithtown hamlet: mostly 1960s and 70s splits, hi-ranches and colonials on quarter-acre-plus lots with real backyards. That space usually leaves room for a deck that does more than hold a grill: a dining level off the kitchen and a lower patio, or a two-tier layout where the main floor sits high above grade. Permits run through the Town of Smithtown, and the grade is generally moderate, so the work is more about proportion and finish than fighting the site.
