An amenity, as Level Line builds it, is part of the deck rather than something bolted on afterward: built-in seating and a fire pit framed into the layout, a planter box on a corner post, a grill station carried by the rail, a hot tub surround sized for the weight, lights wired inside the frame, a pool deck built to the edge of the water. The company is family-owned by Mark Villarico, has built on Long Island since 1996 and has completed more than 4,000 projects, and every amenity below is built from the same lines as the deck.

What we build into a deck
Built-in seating
Benches framed into the deck and sized for the space, along a rail, around a fire pit or at the edge of a level change, so the seating is part of the structure rather than furniture set on it.
Fire pits
A fire pit framed into the layout, with the decking around it and the clearances to the rail and the seating set at the design stage.
Planter boxes
Built onto the posts and framed as part of the deck, so a corner post becomes a planter that spills over the rail rather than a pot set on the boards.
Grill stations
A station along the rail beside the house, framed to carry the grill and set where the deck traffic stays clear of the cook.
Deck lighting
Deck lighting is part of what Level Line builds: low-voltage post-cap lights, stair lights and rail lights, wired in as the deck is built so the fixtures sit where the posts and stair stringers can carry them. Lights on the stairs mark the step edges after dark, and lights along the rail keep the deck in use after sunset.
Pool decks
Decking around an above-ground pool or up to the edge of an in-ground one, with the ladder or the steps landing where they should. Composite and PVC boards are the usual choice because they do not splinter and they shrug off the water.
Railings
Every railing line: Trex Signature, TimberTech, cable rail, aluminum picket and wood. Cable rail or aluminum picket keeps a view open; composite or wood matches the boards.
Gazebos and pavilions
A roofed structure on the deck or beside it, footed and framed like the deck itself. The pergolas and shade structures page covers them.
Hot tub surrounds
A surround built around the tub with the frame under it sized for the weight of a full tub and the people in it, and the decking cut to the tub rather than the tub set on the deck.
Privacy screens
A screen framed onto the deck posts where the yard needs one, in the same lines as the railing, so it reads as part of the deck.
Under-deck storage and cabanas
Storage built under a raised deck, kept dry when a Rain Escape drainage system is built into the deck above it, and cabanas beside a pool deck, footed and framed like the deck itself.
Built into the deck, not bolted on
An amenity that changes the frame goes on the same permit as the deck. Level Line prepares the drawings for the application, unless an architect is assigned to the job. You submit the application with what Level Line provides, Level Line arranges and attends the inspections, and Mark is available by phone throughout. It goes to whichever town your house is in, and how long approval takes varies by town and by inspector.The frame is sized for what it carries, so a grill station or a planter run is designed in before the footings go in, not added once the boards are down.
Near the water every hanger, bracket, bolt and fastener is rated for salt exposure, and the amenities are built from the same lines as the deck: Trex, TimberTech, Azek and other PVC, Fiberon, cedar, pressure-treated lumber, mahogany or ipe. Builds run from one day to two to four weeks, depending on size and scope.

The decking you choose is covered by its manufacturer's warranty. Level Line registers that warranty for you and handles any claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.

This contractor does fabulous work. Mark redesigned and constructed our Trex deck back in 2002 and it still looks great. We've had him pull up boards twice so our pool could be relined. He personally immediately came when we had a pool plumbing leak to open up the deck (and put it together again). He did our kitchen backsplash which involved lots of tile cutting. They've installed our fencing, too. Always done on time, fairly priced and done well. Such a great & respectful crew. He recently upgraded our deck counters to granite and updated our seating. Mark and his crew of workers were exceptional. They completed a deck enclosing a 12' round pool for my home. Every step of the way, Mark was in contact with me and updating me on progress. He also built the deck to accommodate the pavers that we were going to install after the deck was done. His work was top notch, be it the initial planning, construction, or finish work.
