What goes into the kitchen
Grills, refrigeration, sinks, counters and cabinets, seating and fire features are all built in, laid out at the estimate around how you cook and where people sit. The countertops come in whatever material you choose, and the cabinets and storage are built for the same weather as the deck.
A pergola or a pavilion over the kitchen keeps it in use in the rain and takes the sun off the cook; the pergolas and shade structures page covers them. The kitchen can sit beside a pool deck or a hot tub surround, with the frame sized for all of it.
How an outdoor kitchen is built
A kitchen is heavy and it is wet, so it starts with the frame. On a deck the joists and the posts under the kitchen are sized for the load before the footings go in, and the run of the kitchen is set where the deck traffic stays clear of the cook. Beside a patio the kitchen stands on its own base, with the patio designed and managed by Level Line and a licensed masonry partner setting the pavers.
Gas, water and electrical lines are run by licensed plumbers and electricians that Level Line brings in and coordinates, so one crew leads the job and the trades arrive when the frame is ready for them. Low-voltage lighting on the posts, stairs and rail is an option and goes in at the same time.
The kitchen goes on the same permit as the deck or patio it belongs to. Level Line prepares the drawings for the application, unless an architect is assigned to the job. You submit the application with what Level Line provides, Level Line arranges and attends the inspections, and Mark is available by phone throughout. It goes to whichever town your house is in, and how long approval takes varies by town and by inspector.Near the water every hanger, bracket, bolt and fastener is rated for salt exposure, and the decking around the kitchen comes from the same lines as the rest of the deck: Trex, TimberTech, Azek and other PVC, Fiberon, or a natural wood.

The decking you choose is covered by its manufacturer's warranty. Level Line registers that warranty for you and handles any claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.

This contractor does fabulous work. Mark redesigned and constructed our Trex deck back in 2002 and it still looks great. We've had him pull up boards twice so our pool could be relined.
