Building decks in Bay Shore
Bay Shore mixes some of the largest, most detailed older homes on the South Shore (Victorians and center-hall colonials near the bay) with canal-front properties and standard suburban lots inland. On the water, salt-rated hardware and flood elevation drive the build; on the historic homes, the finish and railing detail have to match the architecture. It is a town where the right answer really depends on the block.
