Building decks in Levittown
Levittown started as identical 1947-51 capes and ranches on 60-by-100 lots. Virtually none of them are original now: dormers, rear extensions and garage conversions have reshaped nearly every house, which means no two Levittown decks attach the same way. The lots are modest, so the design question is always how much lawn you are willing to trade. We generally keep the deck tight to the house and push the dining area toward the corner to preserve open yard.
